A workshop to accompany the Woven Worlds Exhibition

16th April

Learn woven tapestry techniques while weaving your own tapestry sample in this relaxing afternoon workshop.

A tapestry weaving workshop that will teach you skills to create simple shapes. You will weave your own tapestry sample while I guide you through a few techniques that will get you started in tapestry weaving. You decide the colours of your woven sample from a range of wools to create your own individual piece, it could be bright and bold or blended neutrals, or a splash of colour in muted tones.

This workshop is ideal for anyone who would like to try their hand at the basics of tapestry weaving or loves creating textile crafts and tactile pieces. Suitable for beginners and those who wish to brush up on, or further develop their weaving skills. A workshop aimed at adults which is suitable for anyone aged 14 and above who enjoys slow crafts or is interested in learning or developing constructed textile skills.

A fun relaxed workshop, where you’ll lose yourself to the rhythm of weaving, the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

This workshop accompanies the British Tapestry Group’s Woven Worlds Exhibition hosted by The Paxton Centre from April 2nd-29th, when you will be able to view and buy original tapestries woven by the BTG London Region members A showcase of contemporary image-making and the ancient art of tapestry weaving combine to create rich and varied worlds of colour and texture. Full information of the exhibition is available on The British Tapestry Group and The Paxton Centre websites.

Come and meet me at The Paxton Centre during the morning of the 16th April when I will be running a demonstration and available to talk all things tapestry.
