Woven Worlds, Barbican Library

A close-up of Lucy Sugden’s woven installation "Ella and the Caterpillars" at the Barbican. The image shows delicate, hand-woven 3D fiber sculptures in cream, beige, and ochre hanging from threads. One piece resembles a stylized caterpillar with red accents, while another larger, winged form floats in the background against a neutral gallery wall.

I am delighted to have three tapestries in exhibition at the Barbican Library.

‘Ella and the Caterpillars’, ‘London’ and ‘80% (Disappearance)’ are all part of the British Tapestry Groups exhibition Woven Worlds, Taking Tapestry into the Future, an exhibition showcasing work by the London Group of the BTG.

The exhibition is open during Library hours until November 29th, with a Meet the Maker event from 5-7.30pm on Thursday 13th November.
