Picking up the Thread: The Past, Present, and Future of Tapestry

The British Tapestry Group’s juried 20th-anniversary celebration exhibition, Picking up the Thread: The Past, Present, and Future of Tapestry, is now showing on the viewing balcony at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh.

This touring exhibition showcases the diversity and richness of contemporary tapestry weaving. It features the work of 68 artists from nine countries, including my own tapestry, ‘Hunting Tigers and Woolly Bears.’

Visit the Exhibition The exhibition is open at Dovecot Studios until February 14th, 2026. I have included the general opening times below, but please check the Dovecot Studios website before your visit, as the viewing balcony is occasionally closed for private events.

Viewing Balcony Opening Times:

  • Monday–Friday: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

  • Saturday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
