Transform the unexpected into the beautiful. Join me for a unique creative session where we turn waste fishing line and fibres into delicate blooms.
Held in the inspiring atmosphere of the ‘Bloom’ exhibition, this workshop invites you to challenge your creativity and explore the art of circular weaving. You’ll learn a streamlined version of my artistic process, using fishing line to give structure to soft cotton fibres.
- Design: Choose your palette from a selection of colourful cottons.
- Craft: Learn how to incorporate and weave a pattern into your flower while working on a circle loom.
- Display: Finish your bloom with a wire stem for a vase or a hanging loop for display.
Whether you’re an avid maker or a complete beginner, you’ll leave with a bespoke woven flower and the skills to keep weaving at home.
Note: This workshop accompanies the exhibition Bloom by Cathy Smale, Claire Pringle, and Lucy Sugden (6th – 14th June). Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance!
This workshop is also being run during the afternoon between 1-3pm on June 8th
